En de winnaar van de NARIM Award 2026 is ... Rosalie André

De uitreiking van de NARIM Award 2026 zorgde voor een bijzonder en emotioneel moment tijdens de feestavond van het congres. Dit jaar ging de prestigieuze prijs naar Rosalie André, die daarmee een van de eerste vrouwelijke winnaars is. Volledig overdonderd nam zij de award in ontvangst. "Ik heb geen woorden", reageerde de normaliter zo spraakzame Rosalie zichtbaar verrast. "Ik voel me super vereerd."

Die verrassing was oprecht. Hoewel Rosalie gewend is om complexe risico's te analyseren en organisaties voor te bereiden op onverwachte gebeurtenissen, zag zij deze onderscheiding niet aankomen. Achteraf beschrijft zij de award vooral als een bijzondere erkenning voor de weg die zij de afgelopen decennia heeft afgelegd.
"Ik heb altijd hard gewerkt, mijn best gedaan en geprobeerd waarde toe te voegen voor de organisaties waarvoor ik werkte, voor de verzekeringsbranche en voor de mensen met wie ik heb samengewerkt. Deze award zie ik als een mooie erkenning daarvan. Tegelijkertijd herinnert het me eraan om af en toe stil te staan bij de weg die ik heb afgelegd. Ik ben vooral dankbaar voor iedereen die deel heeft uitgemaakt van die reis", aldus Rosalie.

Nieuwsgierigheid als rode draad
De NARIM Award wordt inmiddels al twintig jaar uitgereikt aan professionals die een uitzonderlijke bijdrage leveren aan het vakgebied van risk- en insurancemanagement in Nederland. De prijs draait om visie, innovatie, impact en de bereidheid om niet alleen de eigen organisatie, maar ook de branche als geheel verder te brengen.
Dat Rosalie dit jaar als winnaar uit de bus kwam, was volgens de jury meer dan verdiend. Uit de vele nominaties kwamen steeds dezelfde kwaliteiten naar voren: toegankelijk, open, positief, constructief en iemand met een frisse blik. Een professional bovendien die oprecht geïnteresseerd is in de mensen om haar heen.
Wie Rosalie vraagt zichzelf te omschrijven, krijgt vijf kernwoorden: nieuwsgierig, verbindend, internationaal, analytisch en pragmatisch. Vooral die nieuwsgierigheid loopt als een rode draad door haar carrière én haar leven. "Wat mij altijd heeft gedreven, is willen begrijpen hoe dingen werken en oprecht geïnteresseerd zijn in andere mensen. Die nieuwsgierigheid heeft me geholpen om te blijven leren, verbinding te maken en kansen te zien die ik anders misschien had gemist."
Misschien is het daarom niet verrassend dat zij als kind droomde van een carrière als astronaut. Later zag ze zichzelf eerder als trader. Twee totaal verschillende beroepen, maar met één belangrijke overeenkomst: een fascinatie voor ontdekken, analyseren en vooruitkijken.

Van Londen naar de internationale top van het vak
Volgens de jury weet Rosalie inhoudelijke expertise op bijzondere wijze te combineren met verbinding en vernieuwing. Ze staat bekend om haar sterke visie en duidelijke mening, maar vooral om de positieve en opbouwende manier waarop zij die uitdraagt. Dat maakt haar niet alleen een gewaardeerde professional, maar ook een vertrouwde sparringpartner voor collega’s, brokers, verzekeraars en andere stakeholders in de markt.
Haar carrière begon ruim twintig jaar geleden bij Aon Re in Londen. Daarna volgden internationale functies bij onder meer Willis, Meijers en Philips. Bij Signify gaf zij elf jaar leiding aan de wereldwijde Insurance & Risk Management-functie en was zij verantwoordelijk voor verzekeringsprogramma's in meer dan tachtig landen.
Sinds 2024 werkt zij als zelfstandig consultant. In die rol ondersteunt zij organisaties bij strategische vraagstukken op het gebied van verzekeringen en risicomanagement. Zo herijkte zij recent de wereldwijde verzekeringsstrategie van Roll Group en vervult zij momenteel de rol van Manager Global Insurance ad interim bij Heineken.
Juist haar vermogen om complexe situaties snel te doorgronden en mensen met verschillende belangen samen te brengen, ziet zij zelf als haar belangrijkste kwaliteit. "Insurance & Risk Management draait niet alleen om polissen en risico's. Het gaat vooral om het verbinden van mensen, belangen en oplossingen. Ik probeer daarin altijd pragmatisch en doelgericht te zijn, met een sterke focus op vooruitgang en resultaat."

Betrokken bij de ontwikkeling van het vak
Naast haar professionele carrière heeft Rosalie zich jarenlang intensief ingezet voor NARIM en FERMA. Toen zij bij Philips in dienst trad, werd zij lid van NARIM. Dat groeide uit tot een langdurige betrokkenheid bij de vereniging. Tussen 2018 en 2024 maakte zij deel uit van het bestuur van NARIM. Daarnaast droeg zij bij aan verschillende kennisinitiatieven, onder meer op het gebied van cyber en sustainability, en was zij betrokken bij de congrescommissie. Volgens Rosalie ligt juist daarin een van de grote krachten van NARIM. "De meerwaarde van NARIM zit voor mij in het sterke netwerk van professionals die kennis en ervaringen delen. Daarnaast draagt NARIM bij aan de verdere professionalisering van ons vakgebied en geeft het riskmanagers een gezamenlijke stem richting de markt."
De jury prees haar inzet voor kennisdeling, verjonging en verbinding binnen de sector. Tijdens de laudatio werd zij omschreven als een professional die niet alleen succesvol is in haar eigen carrière, maar ook actief investeert in de toekomst van het vak.

Mensenwerk
Dat toekomstperspectief vindt Rosalie belangrijker dan ooit. De rol van de Risk & Insurance Manager is de afgelopen jaren volgens haar sterk veranderd. "Door globalisering, technologische ontwikkelingen, AI en de toenemende complexiteit van risico's is ons vak veel strategischer geworden. Maar tegelijkertijd blijven sommige dingen hetzelfde. Risk & Insurance Management blijft mensenwerk."
Volgens haar kunnen technologie en data professionals steeds beter ondersteunen, maar zullen ervaring, kritisch denken en professioneel oordeel onmisbaar blijven. "Uiteindelijk geldt ook hier: garbage in, garbage out. Technologie kan veel, maar kennis en ervaring blijven nodig om de juiste vragen te stellen en informatie op waarde te schatten."
Dat is ook de boodschap die zij wil meegeven aan de branche. "Laten we blijven investeren in de volgende generatie professionals en actief onze kennis en ervaring delen. AI en nieuwe technologieën bieden enorme kansen, maar mogen kritisch denken niet vervangen. De uitdaging is om het beste van beide werelden te combineren: technologische vooruitgang én menselijk inzicht."

Een welverdiende erkenning
En natuurlijk kon tijdens de uitreiking ook een luchtige noot niet ontbreken. Want, zo werd lachend opgemerkt: "Haar kenmerkende Franse accent — dat overigens alleen in het Nederlands aanwezig is en volledig verdwijnt zodra ze Engels spreekt — maakt haar misschien nog toegankelijker en sympathieker." Maar achter die humor schuilde een serieuze boodschap. Met de NARIM Award bekroont de vereniging niet alleen een indrukwekkende internationale carrière, maar vooral ook iemand die zich jarenlang heeft ingezet voor de ontwikkeling van het vakgebied en de mensen die daarin werkzaam zijn.

Een verbinder, een vernieuwer en bovenal een professional die met nieuwsgierigheid, kennis en enthousiasme een blijvende bijdrage levert aan de wereld van risk- en insurancemanagement.

 

And the winner of the NARIM Award 2026 is... Rosalie André

The presentation of the NARIM Award 2026 provided one of the most memorable and emotional moments of the congress gala evening. This year, the prestigious award was presented to Rosalie André, making her one of the first female recipients in many years. Completely overwhelmed, she accepted the award with visible emotion. "I have no words," said the normally eloquent Rosalie, clearly surprised. "I feel incredibly honoured."

The surprise was genuine. Although Rosalie is accustomed to analysing complex risks and preparing organisations for unexpected events, this recognition was something she did not see coming. Looking back, she describes the award as a special acknowledgement of the journey she has travelled over the past decades.
"I have always worked hard, done my best and tried to create value for the organisations I worked for, for the insurance industry and for the many people I have worked alongside. I see this award as a wonderful recognition of that. At the same time, it reminds me to occasionally pause and reflect on the path I have taken. Above all, I am grateful to everyone who has been part of that journey."

Curiosity as a common thread
For the past twenty years, the NARIM Award has been presented to professionals who have made an exceptional contribution to the field of risk and insurance management in the Netherlands. The award recognises vision, innovation, impact and a willingness to advance not only one’s own organisation but the profession as a whole.
According to the jury, Rosalie was a more than deserving recipient. Across the many nominations submitted, the same qualities appeared time and again: approachable, open-minded, positive, constructive and someone with a fresh perspective. Above all, she was recognised as a professional who is genuinely interested in the people around her.
When asked to describe herself, Rosalie chooses five key words: curious, connecting, international, analytical and pragmatic. Curiosity, in particular, has been a defining thread throughout both her career and her life.
"What has always driven me is the desire to understand how things work and a genuine interest in other people. That curiosity has helped me continue learning, build meaningful connections and recognise opportunities that I might otherwise have missed."
Perhaps it is no surprise, then, that as a child she dreamed of becoming an astronaut. Later, she imagined a career as a trader. Two very different professions, yet both share a common element: a fascination with discovery, analysis and looking ahead.

 

From London to the international top of the profession
According to the jury, Rosalie has a unique ability to combine professional expertise with connection and innovation. She is known for her strong vision and clear opinions, but above all for the positive and constructive way in which she expresses them. This has made her not only a highly respected professional, but also a trusted sparring partner for colleagues, brokers, insurers and other stakeholders across the market.
Her career began more than twenty years ago at Aon Re in London. This was followed by international roles with organisations including Willis, Meijers and Philips. At Signify, she led the global Insurance & Risk Management function for eleven years and was responsible for insurance programmes spanning more than eighty countries.
Since 2024, Rosalie has worked as an independent consultant, advising organisations on strategic insurance and risk management issues. Recently, she redesigned the global insurance strategy for Roll Group and currently serves as Interim Global Insurance Manager at Heineken.
She sees her ability to quickly understand complex situations and bring together people with different interests as one of her greatest strengths.
"Insurance & Risk Management is not just about policies and risks. It is about connecting people, interests and solutions. I always try to be pragmatic and goal-oriented, with a strong focus on progress and results."

Contributing to the development of the profession
Alongside her professional career, Rosalie has devoted many years to supporting both NARIM and FERMA. She became a NARIM member when she joined Philips, and that membership evolved into a long-standing commitment to the association.
Between 2018 and 2024, she served on the NARIM Board. She also contributed to various knowledge initiatives, including those focused on cyber risk and sustainability, and was actively involved in the congress committee. For Rosalie, this reflects one of NARIM’s greatest strengths. "The value of NARIM lies in its strong network of professionals who share knowledge and experiences. In addition, NARIM contributes to the continued professionalisation of our field and provides risk managers with a collective voice in the market."
The jury specifically praised her commitment to knowledge sharing, attracting younger professionals and strengthening connections within the industry. During the laudation, she was described as someone who has not only built a successful career but who also actively invests in the future of the profession.

 

A people-centred profession
That future perspective is more important than ever, according to Rosalie. In her view, the role of the Risk & Insurance Manager has changed significantly over the years. "Because of globalisation, technological developments, AI and the increasing complexity of risks, our profession has become far more strategic. At the same time, some things remain unchanged. Risk & Insurance Management is, and always will be, about people."
While technology and data continue to provide powerful support, she believes experience, critical thinking and professional judgement remain indispensable. "Ultimately, the principle still applies: garbage in, garbage out. Technology can do a lot, but knowledge and experience are still needed to ask the right questions and properly assess information." It is also the message she hopes to share with the industry.
"Let’s continue investing in the next generation of professionals and actively share our knowledge and experience. AI and new technologies offer tremendous opportunities, but they should never replace critical thinking. The challenge is to combine the best of both worlds: technological advancement and human insight."

A well-deserved recognition
Naturally, there was also room for a light-hearted moment during the award presentation. As one speaker jokingly remarked: "Her distinctive French accent – which only seems to appear when she speaks Dutch and completely disappears when she speaks English – may make her even more approachable and likeable." The audience responded with laughter, but behind the humour lay a serious message.
With the NARIM Award, the association is recognising not only an impressive international career, but also someone who has devoted many years to advancing the profession and supporting the people within it.
A connector, an innovator and, above all, a professional who continues to make a lasting contribution to the world of risk and insurance management through her curiosity, expertise and enthusiasm.
